Wangan Midnight: The Movie - Atsushi Muroga (2009)

This isn't "Tokyo Drift", this is Atsushi Muroga's live-action adaptation of Michiharu Kusunoki's street racing manga "Wangan Midnight". Yuichi Nakamura stars as teenager who races a customized Fairlady S30Z along the Wangan, the longest stretch of straight road in the Tokyo metropolitan area. "Wangan Midnight: The Movie" is due out in Japanese theatres in September.




Shiki-Jitsu - Hideaki Anno (2000)

"Shiki-Jitsu" bringts together two of contemporary Japanese cinema's biggest talents: "Neon Genisis Evangelion" creator Hideaki Anno behind the camera as writer/ director and "All About Lily-Chou Chou" and "Swallowtail Butterfly" director Shunji Iwai as leading man. Iwai plays a film director who meets and becomes obsessed with a young woman, played by Ayako Fujitani, the actual author of the book that Anno based the film on.
