It was a little over a week ago that we reported that the folks at Toei and director Takashi Miike were looking for 200 lucky individuals in the Yokohama area to be extras in a scene for the sequel to Miike's 2004 superhero Comedy "Zebraman". At that point details on the sequel were pretty thin and the only info was in Japanese, but now thanks to Kevin Ouellette at Nippon Cinema additional plot and casting details have been revealed.
Miike, and returning lead man Sho Aikawa were on hand at a press conference in Tokyo on Monday to discuss the continued adventures of our favorite striped crime fighter. "Zebraman 2: Zebra City no Gyakushu (Zebra City’s Counter Attack)" is, like we reported originally, set 25 years after the first film with Zebraman not only fighting an evil organization, but the loss of his memory as well. The cast for "Zebraman 2" will be rounded out with Riisa Naka, Tsuyoshi Abe and Masahiro Inoue, and will hit Japanese theatres on May 1st, 2010.
