Toronto loves its horror films. That's a fact. So, one annual film festival that is eagerly awaited by the populace is Toronto After Dark. Festival director Adam Lopez has been bringing horror, fantasy, cult films and all kinds of wild and gory genre fare to Toronto for five years now and his little fest that could has redefined films tastes in the city.
This past week Lopez and his crew of film fans par excellence announced the full line-up for its 2010 offering and in amongst the titles from around the globe Japanese film fans have a couple of grisly nuggets to look forward to - Noboru Iguchi's "RoboGeisha" (above), screening on Sunday, August 15th at 7:00pm, and Seiji Chiba's "Alien vs. Ninja", screening on Monday, August 16th at 9:45pm. If you've been lucky enough to have been in The Bloor Cinema for past After Dark screenings then you'll know what kind of rapturous and uproarious reaction these two films will be receiving.
The 5th annual Toronto After Dark Film Festival runs from August 13th to August 20th. For info on this year's full line-up and how you can get tickets click here.
