Shigeto Yamagara's anime "Kimi to Boku" is adapted into a live-action short film

"Never work with kids or animals." That's what W.C. Fields said, but it looks like 19-year-old actor Aoi Nakamura isn't going to heed the advice of the legendary comedian. According to Anime News Network Nakamura, whose previous credits include "Beck" and "Paranormal Activity 2: Tokyo Night", will be starring opposite a kitten in Takashi Kubota 's upcoming short film "Kimi to Boku".

Based on Shigeto Yamagara's online Flash anime series of the same name "Kimi to Boku" (translated into English recently as "Everlasting Heart") charts the relationship between a young manga artist and his pet cat named Gin-Ō-gō. Nakamura didn't exchange any dialogue on set with his feline co-star who had her lines dubbed in by anime voice actress and pop singer Maaya Sakamoto .

You can check out a sample of the original animated "Kimi to Boku" by clicking here and then head over to Tokyo Hive where a full gallery of stills from the 45-minute live action film have been posted. No word yet on when or where this short film will be released, but we'll keep our ear to the ground for details.
