High School Debut - Tsutomu Hanabusa (2011)

Kazune Kawahara’s shoujyo-manga "High School Debut" comes to the big screen in a zany live-action adaptation directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa (Handsome Suit). Haruna (model Ito Ono) enters high school as a tomboy with only sports on her mind, but very quickly her focus shifts from sports to boys. In order to land herself a boyfriend she turns to her classmate Yoh (Junpei Mizobata) who tries to help her find the right guy. Oh, here's the kicker though... it ends up being him. "High School Debut" will debut in Japanese theatres on April 1st.




Irezumi - Yasuzo Masumura (1966)

Junichiro Tanizaki's classic short story "Irezumi (The Tattooer)" was brought to the screen in 1966 by "Giants and Toys" and "Manji" director Yasuzo Masumura. Otsuya (Irezumi) is a mild-mannered young woman living in Old Edo. That is until she is tattooed with an elaborate black spider and almost immediately she is transformed into a dangerous femme fatale. Scripted by "Onibaba" director Kaneto Shindo.
