Katsu Aki's sex-friendly manga "Futari Ecchi" to go live-action

by Chris MaGee

Read up on the world of manga and you will soon discover that just about every subject matter has been covered -- cooking, hiking, gambling, office work, religion -- you name it and it's probably been explored in the pages of a manga journal. That begs the question, what about bedroom tips for newlyweds? If you can get a recipe for shrimp tempura in a manga then why not a few pointers on how to pleasure your mate? Well, this has already been done to a certain extent in Katsu Aki's manga "Futari Ecchi". The series about a newly married couple, both of them virgins on their wedding night, who must learn to navigate their sex life together has been running in the pages of Young Animal magazine since 1997. Since then it has been adapted into a straight to DVD animated series, but now "Futari Ecchi" will be making the transition into live-action.

Tokyograph is reporting that 26-year-old gravure idol Yuri Morishita (above right) and 27-year-old actor Riki Miura will be portraying the central couple in "Futari Ecchi" in a new live-action feature film. This film will be accompanied by a live-action web series, although that will feature an entirely separate cast from the feature film. Look for both to be released this summer.
