Here’s something that all of you in the Toronto area should be excited about: Katsuhito Ishii’s 36 minute companion piece to his 2006 film “Funky Forest: The First Contact” is having it’s Canadian Premiere on May 2nd as part of the Over the Top Festival! Yes… that’s right… “Hokuro Kyodau: Full Throttle!!!” Any fans of “Funky Forest” won’t be able to forget the white suited Mole Brothers. This time The Mole Brothers take centre stage in seven separate computer-animated shorts.
The film will precede a screening of Marcus Koch’s 2007 serial killer/ horror film “100 Tears” and is a co-presentation with one of the best new festivals in Toronto (or anywhere for that matter) Toronto After Dark.
