We already got word on a handful of the films that Alex Zahlten and the folks at Nippon Connection had in store for the people of Frankfurt (and the world for that matter) for the 9th offering of the annual film festival early in January: "Tokyo Sonata", "Nightmare Detective 2", "Genius Party" and "Genius Party Beyond", and "Non-ko". All great choices, but those were just the appetizer.
Nippon Connection's official website has been updated with a slew of additions to this years programme, and it looks good. How good? Check this out: Yukihiko Tsutsumi's "20th Century Boys", Kunitoshi Manda's "Seppun (The Kiss)", Ryuichi Honda's "GS Wonderland", Ryosuke Hashiguchi's "All Around Us", Minoru Kawasaki's "Pussy Soup (Neko Rahmen Taisho)", Yuki Tanada's "Ain't No Tomorrows", Kazuhiro Soda's "Mental", and Sion Sono's "Love Exposure" to name just a few. You can check out all the additions by clicking here.
I was excited about about heading to Frankfurt next month for the fest before, but now I'm getting really excited! Is it April 15th yet? Is it? Huh? Huh? And because I love it so much, I'm posting the trailer for Ryosuke Hashiguchi's magnificent "All Around Us"... just because.
