Star studded cast for “20th Century Boys”

This isn’t new news, but I thought it was pretty interesting. Yukihiko Tsutsumi, who is probably best known on this side of the pond as the director of one of the halves of the Duel Project. His contribution was the film “2LDK” which is probably the craziest cat fight ever committed to film. He’s had a number of films since then, but none have (yet) been released here. Here’s crossing our fingers that this one will.

On August 30th Tsutsumi’s adaptation of Naoki Urasawa’s manga “20th Century Boys” will hit Japanese theatres. The story revolves around Kenji, a convenience store owner who gets pulled into a mysterious plot to take over the world.

The cast that Tsutsumi has assembled is astounding though! Toshiaki Karasawa will star as Kenji, but he is joined by Arata, Kenichi Endo, Teruyuki Kagawa, Renji Ishibashi and Etsushi Toyokawa. If some of these names don’t ring a bell head on over to the film’s official site to browse through the lengthy cast and crew listing. You’ll see what I mean.
